It is estimated that 30,000 people will be affected by the landslide in Baglung this year. 28 wards of Baglung are at high risk of landslides, 24 wards are at medium risk of landslides and eight wards are at low risk.
The number of landslide affected people has been prepared by assessing the high, medium, and low risk of landslides. With the onset of monsoon, the ‘Manusan Emergency Action Plan-2078’ prepared by the District Disaster Management Committee has prepared statistics that most parts of the district will be affected by landslides.
The action plan states that 3,500 to 4,000 houses may be damaged due to landslides in the district. Community schools are also at risk of landslides. The District Disaster Management Committee has stated that the landslide could affect 20 community school buildings this year. Some of them will be fully and some will be partially affected.
