Nepalis living in the United States have provided financial assistance to the Melamchi-Indravati flood victims. Dil Bahadur Shrestha of Thangpalkot and Ram Krishna Shrestha of Melamchi collected Rs. 577,000 from 35 people. The amount was handed over to Melamchi Mayor Dambar Aryal by Dinesh Shrestha and Prakash Adhikari along with Sujata Shrestha, daughter of Ram Krishna.
Out of this amount, Rs. 77,000 has been provided to Radio Melamchi. Understanding the amount, Mayor Aryal called on all to help the flood-affected people and continue their support. Chairman of Radio Melamchi, Dambar Rasik Bharti, said that this kind of support would help in running the radio again. Bagmati State Assembly member Indramaya Gurung and Melamchi-11 ward chairman Rudra Prasad Dulal were also present.
